Tesla has just introduced a new standard wheel option for the Model Y in the U.S., following its recent sighting at one of the company's factories.

Last month, the Model Y was spotted with dark Gemini wheels outside Tesla's Fremont, California factory, hinting at an impending launch. As of now, Tesla has officially replaced the former silver Gemini wheel covers with the new dark Gemini wheel covers as the standard option in its order configurator.

Customers still have the option to upgrade to the 20-inch induction wheels for $2,000, but the previous standard silver Gemini wheels are no longer available. In Canada, the silver Gemini wheels remain the standard, although buyers can opt for the dark Gemini wheels for an additional $700 CAD (approximately $513 USD).

The dark Gemini wheels have also become the standard in markets served by Tesla's Gigafactory in Shanghai, China, following their introduction alongside other updates in October. However, in European markets served by Tesla's Gigafactory near Berlin, Germany, the previous silver Gemini wheels continue to be the standard option.

This update follows Tesla's launch of the Model Y RWD Long Range in the U.S. last month, which replaced the previous entry-level trim and added 60 miles of range.

Additionally, Elon Musk recently announced that owners of the previous base Model Y configuration will soon be able to purchase range upgrades, nearly matching the new Long Range variant. In April, Tesla also introduced the highly anticipated Quicksilver paint option for the Model Y in several markets, following its initial release at Giga Berlin.
